The Student Welfare Department at SRM University Sonepat aims to cultivate a safe, inclusive, and student-centric campus environment that nurtures holistic growth, emotional wellbeing, leadership, and responsible citizenship — enabling every student to thrive academically, socially, personally, and professionally.

The Student Welfare Department is committed to promoting student wellbeing through accessible support systems, proactive counselling and grievance redressal mechanisms, meaningful student engagement initiatives, and collaborative campus programmes. The department strives to foster a balanced and enriching university experience by strengthening community participation, encouraging leadership and life skills, supporting academic priorities, and building a culture of empathy, inclusivity, and psychological safety across the campus.

Meet the Team

Ms. Anuradha K.
Senior Manager – Student Welfare

Holding dual Master's degrees in Clinical and Counselling Psychology, Ms. Anuradha K. is a seasoned mental health professional with over two decades of experience in counselling, student welfare, and ombudsmanship across academic institutions, NGOs, and corporate sectors. A trained Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (CBT), she is committed to promoting mental health awareness, student wellbeing, and inclusive campus practices.

As Senior Manager – Student Welfare, Ms. Anuradha leads all student welfare functions at the university, including counselling services, discipline management, grievance redressal, student engagement initiatives, events, and club administration, while ensuring a safe, supportive, and student-centric campus environment.

Ms. Paavni Rhea Tyagi
Senior Counsellor – Student Welfare

Ms. Paavni is a compassionate and student-centric mental health professional with academic training in M.A. in Counselling Psychology from MSU of Baroda and MSc in Psychology of Sport from University of Stirling. She is committed to strengthening student wellbeing through proactive mental health support and meaningful campus engagement, fostering a structured, participative, and responsible student environment.

Her experience spans individual and group counselling, early identification and support for students in distress, and collaborative work with faculty and institutional teams to ensure timely and sensitive interventions. Ms. Paavni also actively contributes to outreach initiatives and student engagement programmes that promote emotional resilience, psychological safety, and an inclusive campus culture.

Mrs. Prerana Rathi
Student Counsellor – Student Welfare

Mrs. Prerana is a qualified psychotherapist with over six years of experience, holding an MPhil in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and currently pursuing a PhD in Psychology. Her work integrates psychotherapy, counseling, and art-based approaches, grounded in psychoanalytic thinking, with a strong commitment to inclusive and queer-affirmative practice.

At the university, she provides proactive mental health support and fosters a structured, participative, and responsible student environment. Mrs. Prerana also serves as the Mental Health Nodal Officer, leading initiatives to promote student well-being and engagement. Prerana is an affiliate member of the Indian Psychoanalytic Society and has contributed across academic, clinical, and corporate settings.

Mr. B. Bhushan
Executive – Student Welfare

Mr. B. Bhushan is an experienced student welfare and grievance resolution professional with over a decade of expertise in counselling, mentorship, conflict management, and institutional support. With a strong background in IT, cybersecurity, behavioural guidance, and student engagement, he is adept at addressing sensitive concerns with discretion, empathy, and a solution-oriented approach.

Known for his ability to build trust and navigate complex situations effectively, Mr. Bhushan plays a key role in managing critical investigations, formal conflict resolution processes, and discipline oversight in sensitive or escalated student matters. His work is centred on fostering a safe, inclusive, and student-focused environment where concerns are addressed with professionalism, fairness, and care.

Ms. Yukti
Executive – Student Welfare

Ms. Yukti is a dedicated student welfare professional with over three years of experience in admission counselling, student support, and academic administration. Currently associated with SRM University Delhi-NCR, she focuses on student wellbeing, welfare coordination, student engagement, and campus support services.

Known for her empathetic approach and effective communication skills, Ms. Yukti is committed to fostering a positive, inclusive, and student-centric environment that supports students in their academic and personal growth.
